Ken did a BER assessment of my house.  I already knew I had a problem with the attic conversion.  He advised me then did a very detailed specification of the work needed.  He met the Insulation contractors and explained to them exactly what he wanted done. He also inspected the work 3 or 4 times while it was in progress. I ended up with a lovely warm house that is cheap to heat and I would never have been able to reach that standard without Ken’s professional input. Ken O’Farrell assisted me, the Architect, in the refurbishment of a heritage cottage.  His services included detailing insulation, windows, doors, sealing membranes and ventilation, bringing the house from a G to a C rating.  He carried out 2 blower door tests combined with theatrical smoke to identify leakage paths through the building envelope.  Following remedial works the second test confirmed that an acceptable level of air sealing had been achieved.  Brilliant Service!

On carrying out an attic conversion, I wanted to ensure that I was making the correct decisions in relation to thermal performance, comfort and future proofing.  Ken O’Farrell worked with us to achieve a cost effective specification on energy aspects of the job.  He liaised with the builder to confirm that the detailing was correct and carried out a blower door and smoke test to ensure the structure was sealed properly.  Highly recommend.
