Specifications for installers and Builders
Many insulation upgrades carried out by installers under various grant schemes are priced to get the job against the competition. Anything that is not specified will not be done if it adds cost or time to the job. From our extensive surveys carried out for the ESB "Halo Home Energy Efficiency" Programme and the SEAI Home Energy Savings schemes we have often seen very poor standards of work. In fact the addition of insulation in some cases has made the situation worse by reducing ventilation and increasing the chances of timber rot and mould growth.
Having listened to your requirements we can draw up a detailed specification of the work to be carried out in agreement with your installers. The work is then priced against our specification. Therefore you can go with the lowest price secure in the knowledge that the work will be carried out to the specification regardless of the installer you choose. Typically the spread in price across 3 quotes can be as much as 20% so that savings can be significant.
We can also do the same with installers of boilers, solar panels and heating systems.
This approach works equally well for extensions and major refurbishments.
